Welcome to History 101!
Did you know that Abe Lincoln was a great wrestler?
Did you know that Edith Wilson essentially performed the duties of the president while her husband Woodrow was ill?
Did you know that the Great Wall of China mixed sticky rice in with its mortar?
Neither did we! But we love learning about these facts and bringing them up with our friends every chance we get. Here at History 101, we couldn’t figure out why history is so often presented in such a dry, boring way. After all, it’s the greatest story of all time! We intend to put the story back in history by presenting it in a conversational and relevant way. Our goal is to entertain readers, but also to provide them with information that will help them better understand the world they live in today. We will achieve this by delivering well researched, fact-driven content in a storytelling voice, sourcing our inspiration from current events or buzz worthy topics from around the web.
From the roarin’ 20s, to the ancient Mayan civilization, to Napoleon’s conquest of Europe, History 101 dives into the long and colorful past that informs the present. We love to delve into the lesser-known aspects of history, explore common narratives, and most of all, the quirky details of our forefathers and beyond.
We are creating a community where armchair historians can come together and muse upon the good ol’ days!
